Little Samsung AF dual panorama functions

I have one of these and finally decided to run a roll of film through it. I have no manual and was wondering what the button on top, that says "SNAP", does? Most everything else I can figure out. Anybody have experience with this little bugger? JW

It's probably a quick 'infinity' or 6' adjustment to focusing followed by taking the shot, much faster than having to AF first. A few of my compacts have that infinity thing, which is designed primarily for taking landscapes through windows where the camera's AF would normally focus on the window, but it's normally called 'infinity' or has a picture of a mountain or something similar. I'd suggest that the SNAP is the other option, i.e. that it quickly focuses at some fixed distance that will get a person or small group of people in focus and closes down the aperture as much as it's able to get good focus.

I also think it is a standardized setting for focus and aperture or speed to take snaphots (whatever that may be, though I guess something around 3m).

Activate that setting and meter how far the lens is extracted. Then try to replicate that lens ectraction by letting the camera focus on some subjects.
That should give you an idea.

I couldn't find anything on this particular camera, but it was brought to my attention that another Samsung camera had the same type button and it was used to lock focus between 4' and 19'. Described for taking shots of fast moving kids where AF could not keep up, etc. It now makes sense to me. It's loaded with film for a trial run. JW
