Default Would anyone like an Olympus XA" for free?

In the spirit of generosity as shown in this thread: http://www.apug.org/forums/forum51/5...onditions.html in which John Fyfe gave away several refurbished Ansco/Agfa folding cameras, I have decided to give away my surplus Olympus XA2 cameras to anyone who has a use for them.

I have an original XA which I am going to keep but up for grabs are the following:

2 x Olympus XA2 in working condition. I got these as a pair which were bolted next to each other on a plate (using tripod mount threads). I assume they were used to take stereo images. They each have a slight modification which is a small copper contact added to the bottom to synchronise the shutters. It has been done well and you probably wouldn't notice if you didn't know.

I also have another XA2 which works o.k. 95% of the time but occasionally the shutter stays open much longer than expected. e.g. about half a second when you are expecting 1/125.
This one is available for spares or repair.

First come, first served. Please email me by converting this into a proper e-mail address: steve.smith.stuff (at) gmail.com (replace the (at) with @). Let me know if you want one of the working ones or the spares/repair one. I will pay the postage.

Both of the working cameras are now spoken for. Just the spares or repair one left now.

The spares or repair camera has been requested too now.

All three will be posted soon.

One fully working XA2 is available again due to its previous claimant realising he didn't really need it and would rather see someone else have it.

Wonderful gesture, Steve!

I'd jump on it but I have too many cameras as it is; hope a newbie gets it and uses it.

Again, thanks for the generous offer.

Thanks Steve - I'm looking forward to having a tinker with the spares or repair XA2.

I'll add my thanks as well. A very nice gesture... and people say that APUGgers are rude.

I'll see if I have anything worthwhile in my kit to pay it forward. Anyone want a Quantaray 70-300 Nikon zoom? (Don't yell at me, it came with the camera)

That's it. The last one has now been claimed.
All three will be posted tomorrow.

Sir, your generosity is seriously cool. You should be justifiably very proud of yourself.
