Default Chinon CM-4S Problem

Hi, I bought a Chinon CM-4S today, but when I cock the shutter then release it, it takes a picture. Any Idea why does this?

Thanks.

Welcome to APUG. Sounds faulty, where did you buy it from, can you take it back ?

Is the shutter release jammed ?

It isn't worth very much and a repair would be far more than its value.

Thanks Ian.

The shutter release doesn't seemed jammed, although the film advance lever did jam. I opened the bottom panel and managed to unjam it.

I bought it with a 200mm lens which fits my Zenit, a flash and 2 filters for £10 at a charity shop. So even if it doesn't work then I think it was a good buy just for the lens alone.
