    garage sale score!

I just got a Kodak Carousel 5200 at a garage sale Sunday for 13$. The box is in slightly used condition. When I got home and took everything out, the projector looked like it has never been used. I haven’t shot slide film in about 15 or 20 years. I may have to invest in some and start again. This weekend I will dig out my old slides and ‘entertain’ the family.

Cool. I scored a projector the day before yesterday, along with a whole darkroom's worth of other items. The one I got is a Bell & Howell cube projector. I only have one roll of slide film so far, but I can't wait to take it out and hook it up.

Chain your family down well so there's no possibility of escape!
Sounds like you found a bargain. Well done!

The 5200 is an excellent projector, one of Kodak's best. It should come with one of the quality FF lenses.

Congrats Mike, great find! The remote control was inside the box?

The remote was tucked into it's own compartment in the projector.

Steve - I'll lock all the doors also.

Goldie - It came with the Ektanar C 102 to152 mm zoom.

And it came with a 140 slide tray.

I once acquired a Carousel 140 magazine (was it called the "Transvue"?) and spent ages trying to adapt it to a bog standard S-AV 2000 projector, failing miserably!

Yes, the Carousel trays are Transvue.

Transvue trays are quite common in the thrift stores around here. 1-2$ each if anyone wants me to pick up a few.
I think last time I checked there were some for a GAF projector as well.
Go not to the elves for counsel, for they will say both yes and no.

The transvue trays are translucent gray, GYF also had opaque black, usually 80's. These had slightly wider slots & could take thicker slides(glass mounted).
There were also some after market brands that had a couple of translucent colors. I recollect red and yellow but am not sure about the yellow.
    Heavily sedated for your protection.
