    Leica Ernst Leitz Wetzlar D.R.P - No.125499

I am interested in gaining some more information about a Leica camera, specifically the Ernst Leitz Wetzlar D.R.P with serial No.125499. There are two other production numbers inscribed within the bottom plate. The camera has a black body with black top and bottom plates and chrome knobs etc but unfortunately there is no lens. I am unable to find the particular serial number on any Leica Serial Number List websites. I would be very grateful if any-one has any information on what model this could be?
    Thankyou.

If your camera is marked "DRP No125499" that is a patent number, not a serial or model number. DRP = "Deutsches Reich Patent".

As always, Google is your friend. Search for "leica identification":

    leica screw mount serial #

if you go to camera quest http://www.cameraquest.com/ltmnum.htm you will find that serial number belongs to a 1933 chrome model III if yours is black, then odds are when you unscrew the lens you will find that the focus cam is wedge shaped and you are the proud owner of a soviet FED reworked to fool the innocent. Some people love FSU cameras.

Hope you didnt pay too much for it.
