Welcome from the west coast of Canada.
I don't think you have to worry about stockpiling black and white film. I'm not so sure about colour because I rarely use it, but I suspect it will be around for a while yet, no matter what happens to Kodak.

I do use a digital device in my photographic pursuits when necessary.
When someone rags on me for using film, I use a middle digit, upraised.

Howdy! I'm a seaso ticket holding Longhorn (but I hate football) but won't hold any grudges against you since we share such a love of film (and keeping behind in the times with other things too, I'm sure).

You'll fit in here just fine!

Welcome to our pond. Jump in and get wet! We need people like you who both love the look and feel of film imagery, but also have an interest in keeping these beautiful mechanical instruments alive.

As am sure you have experienced yourself, film photography is a very organic experience. I look forward to learning from you.

Welcome to APUG from yet another Pentaxian! (Also Yashicaian, Minolta Autocordian and Kodak Retinaian). Don't give up on film, there are more of us around than you think. I have been testing 120 film in some nearly a century old Kodak folders and have been getting great results. The resolution easily competes with the most current digital cameras which will be residing in landfills sooner rather than later.
