Hello! Darkroom slave here, new to the site

Hey all! I'm a student worker at a college photography dept. with a thriving darkroom, digital lab, and studio. My job includes maintaining everything in sight but I much prefer the smell of chemicals to the whine of computer fans. I'm so happy to find this place, It's everything I've been dreaming of!

I'm curious to know if you are making any money at it, or if it's just for hobby.

Welcome to the fun times! Congrats on your job. It's too bad you need to support those paper weights with fans in them

Howdy! Welcome to APUG. I worked in a school darkroom for many years and miss it a lot- it was nice to always have everything set up and ready just steps from my office. All gone as a trade off for retirement, I'm afraid...and I wouldn't go back.

Have fun, but take care of your health. Darkrooms are full of nasties. Know too many photographers that have health issues working in darkrooms. May you have a long and healthy career in the darkroom!
