Greetings and Salutations from New Jersey

I've been enjoying the threads here for a week or so now and just wanted to say hello to y'all.

I've been shooting for a bit over 20 years now. First "real" camera was a Leica IIIc my grandfather traded me for my Minolta 110 (I think it was a model 450 or something like that). A few years later it was augmented by a Canon A-1. then an Elan 7, then a couple of (spoken in a whisper so as not to offend) Canon D-SLRs. In the past few months I've picked up a number of medium format cameras on e-bay. I started with a Yashica-D, and quickly moved to a 2x3 Century Graphic (and a couple of weeks ago a Pacemaker Speed). I recently won a 4x5 Pacemaker Speed and my first HP5 sheet film is on its way from B&H today. Looking forward to getting used to it before some hiking trips out west later in the year.

    Good Morning, Dan,

Welcome from SW Illinois. It looks as if you're already sliding down the slippery GAS slope!

It's probably something too obvious, but I have to ask - GAS?

Gear Acquisition Syndrome. It's not contagious as I've still got the same gear I got 25 years ago and don't feel a need to buy anything else

(I'm talking camera gear here...the darkroom is another matter!!!!!!!!!!)

    Welcome Dan,

I'm a newbie here too, also with GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) -- I have a Nikon F100, two Nikon FEs, three Minolta Autocords, a Yashica 12, a Yashica 124-G, a Horizon 202, a Holga, and a Gevabox. I would like to move up to a larger format (similar to the Century Graphics and Speeds that you have), but at the moment I'm focusing on darkroom work, so all my money is going there -- mostly for paper and chemicals.

    Welcome.

Honestly, those cameras in my signature really need me. They'd be orphans if not for me...

A bunch of Nikons; Feds, Zorkis and a Kiev; Pentax 67-II (inherited from my deceased father-in-law); Bronica SQ-A; and a nice Shen Hao 4x5 field camera with 3 decent lenses that needs to be taken outside more. Oh, and as of mid-2012, one of those bodies we don't talk about here.

Favourite film: do I need to pick only one?
