First perhaps a very belated introduction?
I'm a 42 years old geologist/engineer or something working in Norway's offshore oil industry. The work scedule (Norwegian regulations are great!) gives me plenty of time for hobbies, so I've taken to large cumbersome cameras. While I haven't progressed beyond 13x18cm (a hint larger than 5x7") yet, I find a 1950's Technika III to be big enough for me.
Some years ago I was very active, and had a side career of portrait/studio photographer with a Bronica ETRS. Since then the Bronica is seeing a lot less use, and since cameras are now toys I've aquired lots of big, old, heavy or just nice ones. I explain this by having learned photography with my father's Welta Welti folding 35mm camera - at least I seem to have a definite preference for cameras with bellows: Voigtländer Perkeo, Bessa, Bergheil 9x12, Zeiss Ikon Nettar, Daiichi Zenobia, Linhof Technika and Color...
After a five-year hiatus following a move I've finally got my darkroom up and running again. To force myself to hurry up, I bought a second-hand (is there any other sort?) Durst Laborator 138S. It's limited how long such a monster can sit in the hallway before you're forced to build a darkroom!
Somehow I never got around to writing this introduction when I should have, so I do it now on the occasion of having changed my name:
I used to be OleTj, I've simplified it to Ole.
But I'm keeping my avatar!
