Default Hello everyone!

Boy am I glad I found APUG. It's hard to find a place to chat about film photography without a horde of people encouraging me to get with the times and shoot digital.

Anyways! I'm Stephen, a hobbyist of about three or four years now. I started digital and worked my way towards film. I found that with digital, I was using all that automation as a substitute for knowing how to use ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to arrive at a creative exposure. And because I'm a sucker, if the camera has that automation, I have a hard time switching it to manual. So I went and got a Mamiya M645 and Pentax K1000 to really learn about exposure without the temptation of letting the camera do all the work for me.

I really enjoy shooting film and I'm looking forward to hanging out here.

See you around

Hey Stephan. Nice to have other people appreciate what you're trying to do, isn't it? Welcome aboard from another New Englander.
