Welcome from up the road in Jacksonville - wish I were closer, I'd take a look at it for you.

First, take a look at the large format photography site. There are a number of articles with photos that will help you learn the terminology and something about your type of camera.

Is it simply the cable release - the long flexible thing that screws into the lens - that's broken? If so, that's not much of a problem.

BTW Brett Weston used an Agfa-Ansco 10x8 so yours is just a small step down
