    Hello from Norcal

Just though I'd introduce myself. I'm Sam and I live in the Bay Area. I've been into photography for awhile and recently began taking it more seriously.

I shoot both digital and film, but finding myself shooting film a lot more. And really only shooting digital when necessary. For some reason digital just isn't as enjoyable as film; just can't make that same connection.

Anyways, for film I shoot both 35mm and Medium Format. Main camera I use is my Hasselblad 201F + 80mm f/2.8 and in situations where that isn't possible I use my dads Leica M6 (which I pair with different rental lenses). And in a few days I'll be getting my hands on a Nikon F3HP + Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S (currently have the Ai version). Also, as you can probably tell I do like my photography equipment.

I've been doing a ton of experimenting with different color films and trying to find which films I like. With B&W it was easy (Ilford FP4 Plus and HP5 Plus), but for color there's so many different films for different situations. Addictive, yet expensive trying them all out. Next weekend I'll be using some Fujichrome 64T, so expect a thread by me asking for some tips.

Anyways, sorry about rambling on there. Sum it up; I'm Sam, I'm addicted to film and hopefully this site can lead me in the right direction with it.

Welcome to APUG, Sam, from Washington DC! I'm an ex-Emeryvillian (I'd love to move back out there sometime, but the economics of the housing market preclude that). Wave hi to the folks at Keeble & Shuchat the next time you're in the area for me.

Welcome to APUG from the other side of this great nation (The We-Wannabe-Cal-Look-At-Our-VOC-Regulations State).
    Thank you

Welcome from near Washington, DC, where we are not yet dug out. The snow has drifted to roof level of my Mazda sedan.

Hello Sam. As you will come to realize, there are a lot of APUG people in and around the Bay Area. I do not get to the Peninsula or the South Bay all that much - the East is home territory for me.
    I feel, therefore I photograph.

Welcome, Sam, from further north in NorCal!
At least with LF landscape, a bad day of photography can be a good day of exercise.
