    Hello from Finland

    Hi!
I've been lurking around here now for some months so I thought I maybe should introduce myself so here it goes.

I'm a 18 year old (/young? ) guy from a quite small town in Finland. I study at upper secondary school (dunno If that's the correct english term for it) and music at a vocational school so I'm often in school the whole day (8am to 10pm some days). I play the clarinet and saxophone if anyone is curious. I got interested in photography 2½ years ago when my sister bougth herself a Nikon D80 and I got interested in analogue photography this autumn when a friend of mine, a fellow saxophonist, borrowed his fathers old Nikon F and we tried doing som developing in the local photographyclubs darkroom and I quite liked the process. So then I found myself a nice Nikon Fe and now I have a 24mm, 50mm and a 105mm for it so I'm quite happy with that system now, but sometimes I'm thinking of getting a 200mm. Altough I'm quite young this isn't the first time I experience GAS ^^. Now I have also started my trip into the world of medium format with a nice Rolleilfex 3.5E and I'm enjoying it rather much. Thinking of advancing to large format in the summer .
I could talk on forever but this is alredy to long so I'll stop now

Welcome! Sounds like you are well on your way. Congrats!

BTW, we like Fins where I'm from because there are three great ones on our local NHL team. My son's favorite player is Tuomo Ruuto.

Welcome to APUG! I have almost the same set-up as you in terms of the Nikon and often use TLRs for MF. They're great go-to systems for all kinds of photography.

Technology is not a panacea. It alone will not move your art forward. Only through developing your own aesthetic - free from the tools that create it - can you find new dimension to your work.

Thank you for the replies^^. My biggest concern is the lack of time, but I think it will be better in the summer when I'm not as busy. But I try to get some time for it every now and then. I should probably get some pictures up on the web so I could get some feedback and develop as a photographer.
