Ha! Terry Richardson is cool, except when he is included in the picture. how about Nan Gouldin, Guy Bourdin and maybe (just maybe) Boogie.

I've been concerned with portraiture more recently and love Viviane Sassen's work (http://www.vivianesassen.com/). Someone here pointed me in the direction of Damon Winter, who is also brilliant http://www.damonwinter.com/.

David Eustace is great too - http://www.davideustace.com/

Go back and enjoy some Helmut Newton. Miles Aldridge is worth a look, too:

Jonathan Leder got off to a great start a few years back with the analog nouveau girlie mag, Jacques, which fizzled after he split with his wife. He's still at it with mixed results:

Hmm. I'd say the selections here are archetypes of what I think of as hipster photography, not that it diminishes their worth. Some interesting stuff, thanks for the link.

    If it moves, shoot it.
If it does not move, shoot it anyway.

I said "occasional" departures notable maybe more for their rarity than originality.

Here's some "negative" inspiration whose humor escaped a few hereabouts when I last posted it. Oh well...
