Bill Brandt books?
Hello,
I would love to get hold of a book of Bill Brandt's northern industrial (eg the snicket) and landscape (eg barbary castle, gull's nest) pictures. Can anybody recommend one?
Thanks in advance!

"Bill Brandt - A Life" by Paul Delany is a biography with a good sampling of his work including landscapes, the gull's nest, some industrials and nudes. Brandt was incredibly talented and his life story is an interesting read as well.

thanks - are they good quality/full page reproductions of the photos?
-
Most are full page averaging 7"x8" and are good reproductions.
-
great, thanks again for the tip. It seems weird there are hardly any Brandt books around.

I've spent a few occasions looking for a well reproduced/affordable Brandt book with no luck. His work seems to have been forgotten by publishers which is both odd and an absolute crime! I still think his edgy compositional style and high contrast printing stands up today.

There have been plenty of books on Brandt's work and most are available for modest prices via Abe Books:

Just put Bill Brandt in the keyword search.
Even first edition versions of ones that he published himself - Perspective of Nudes, Shadow of Light - can be found for £40.
If you go to his website, you can buy an 80 page catalogue for £18:

Thanks David. I guess what I am really looking for is a recommendation of any specific books which focus on his landscapes and northern industrial work. I can find lots of books on the internet which contain his images but I don't know which images they have. I was hoping someone here knew of just such a book.
