Yes, NG's legal team contacted them and the award place sent me an email telling me to stop asking questions. I googled their address and from the street view, it is a Mailbox etc. type place in a sketchy part of Hollywood, CA.

Wow, that is a serious matter. They still have her name posted as a judge so apparently NG's letter had no impact. I wonder how many judges on the list are actually participating?

Them sending you that email tells me all I need to know. Avoid getting caught in their web.
I do use a digital device in my photographic pursuits when necessary.
When someone rags on me for using film, I use a middle digit, upraised.

It's a total scam. I thought everyone knew that, but, uhhhh, I guess not. Everyone gets a "merit" award. Or, maybe they have a computer program picks out every 1 in 10 entries for rejection to give an illusion of selectivity.
If you MUST have the shallow validation of a piece of paper telling you you are a "winner," try only submitting to contests that are sponsored by registered non-profits.
