They're shooting a wide pattern here. I do tend to agree with _some_ of their assessments. I hesitate to say which.
I'm surprised they missed Cindy Sherman.

No problem, I am ignoring most noted photographers. I am not into this to copy, replicate or becoming a fan-boy anyway. Whatever they did, they did well, means jack squat to me, to be honest.

I think what they are getting at is to find your own photographic voice rather than emulating one of the popular masters.
