Hi folks, as a new convert to contact printing I have a question, very basic I am afraid but having read the posts here I still can't find a definitive answer to my quandry. I have dome some POP prints, sunlight here on the west coast of Scotland has been on vacation for several months now, so in a fit of frustration I have just got a UV "facelamp"(worth buying just for the look on the volunteers face at the charity shop!!!)Anyway, my question is can I use this lamp for standard darkroom papers for want of a better term as well, as POP, van dyke etc

The published response curve for Ilford & Agfa papers suggest this will work tho' why you should want to use UV when normal light will do for standard papers... still, I suppose you could get a tan while printing at the same time  .
As for POP & other alt. procs. - according to Webb & Reed in the 'Spirits of Salts' book:
"Argos, the chain store supply a small sun lamp on a stand which has a low wattage. It is fairly slow but quite safe to use..."
This sounds like the chap you have. It's made by Philips.
