Arista RC Plus - Pearl Grade 3 paper - Exposure time
OK, Yall... Here I go again.
I got stuck again. I was trying to contact print using
- Arista RC Plus pearl Grade 3 Paper.
- 25w house hold G type bulb held about 2 feet above the glass plate. Paper and negatives were set inside a frame - emulsion to emulsion.
I shut down the lights in the bath room and opened the paper cover and set it up inside the photo frame emulsion side facing up and arranged the negatives emulsion facing the paper, set the glass over the negative. Set the timer for 8 sec and switched on the light (25w bulb). Switch of the light. After that I kept the paper into the developer. Now switch on the 25w light again and was 5ft away from the processing area.
While processing the paper turned completely black. I m puzzled...
Please help me, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Also, your time (8secs) could be way to long. Do a test strip under the same conditions (probably move the light back a bit too). Set up the same, give the paper/neg/glass sandwich a 2sec burst of light, cover up 2 inches of the sandwich with some cardboard and give it another burst. Do that until you run out of paper to expose. Develop it as jdef decribes.
Instead, can I fire my flash gun and take it for development? Since many places it is been mentioned to use Cool light, even Jdef says to use the white light...
