What I overheard in the Getty today...

I went to the Getty Museum in LA today to see the Paul Strand and Frederick Sommers shows. They are both very good but a wee-bit small.

While standing in front of some of the beautiful Strand 8x10 contact prints, a young girl next to me, about 16 or so, says to her gray-haired father, "Dad, I want to learn to shoot film."

I nearly started to cry.

Well - maybe not so weird if we're both living in the same city (me - only part time)... but I never would expect to see/meet an apug type by chance anywhere..! BTW - I had on a black t-shirt - carrying a rollei 6000 over the shoulder...in case you noticed.

While sitting in a restaurant in Warwick NY yesterday, a guy walked past the window wearing a T shirt that said: "Shoot Film". Made my day!
