I asked the question mainly due to the experiences I saw with a few friends who had this happen to them. Two separate photos mags printed their images at the same time even though initially the work was scheduled some time apart. One of the editors involved hit the ceiling, blew a gasket, came unglued or whatever you want to call it. He was pissed! The other was just fine with it and felt having both magazines with the work could only help promote each publication as well as helping the photographer in getting even more publicity.

I do know the first editor told them he would never use them again as a result while the second is fine with it. Quite a different reaction from editors over something that wasn't under the control of the photographer.
