Japanese Photography -- is there a good book?

Is there a good, comprehensive book (or video) of Japanese photography through the 20th Century? (Text in English.)

Ihei Kimura is a well-known documentary-style Japanese photographer, often compared to H.C.B. in the Japanese scene. Much of his work shows a lot of the post WWII period of Japan and seems to have huge influences on many Japanese photographers in all genres.

Some suggested books of his work are listed here:

It might be nice to see photographs from Kimura. If you wish to learn from Japanese photographers you have to study their life and history too. Japanese, Chinese,... photography is very different from westerners even at the first look it is just a photo. It could be very useful to study Zen culture which Japanese got from China but adopted and is now pure Japanese... Note also that you will be hardly understud in America with Jap. art.

Have you heard about Iwao Yamawaki? He was an architect that spent two years at Bauhaus in Dessau where he took over photography. His pictures are pure Bauhaus stetic, if you like it.

Also, the last part of Volume I of Martin Parr's History of the Photobook is dedicated to postwar Japanses publications.
