    The Death of Life

Looks like Life magazine is finally down for the count. Sure, it is not much more than a famous name anymore, its era ended long ago and its later rebirths were mere shadows of the original but it is still kind of sad. Makes you reflect back on its heyday as one of the great photography essay magazines.
Supposedly its name will live on as a webzine.
That is called grain. It is supposed to be there.

Geez, the new version was still wet behind the ears, so thin, so wanting. Guess we need to read Parade and USA Weekend instead. If you call that reading?
When I grow up, I want to be a photographer.

It's died so many times that I'm never sure when it isn't!

It was an icon of its era and its several reincarnations never drew a following. I doubt it will last long as a webzine either - unless it goes "video" as a kind of professional YouTube.

Sad, but not surprising. And we're all getting old....
