In an ideal world David Corfield would lure away AP's best contributors such as Geoffrey Crawley, Ivor Mantale and Roger Hicks. I think they would add some more depth to what can be lightweight articles in B&W.

I recall a thread some time ago when Roger said he had called Geoffrey to tell him he was very highly spoken of on APUG, so perhaps he drops by without actually contributing. Having said that, I don't recall seeing Roger here recently either, but I think you've hit on a winner if Geoffrey could be persuaded to write a few articles on his b&w developers for the magazine. Maybe call it something like "Classic developers & why I invented them"

I would dearly love to see John Blakemore write the occasional piece for B&W. In the photography world he is a 'National Treasure.'

Now - that would be something! His book is utterly inspiring.

Good idea and a no brainer to me. I don't think they get the recognition they deserve in AP and I suspect they are becoming more marginalised with each passing AP edition and changes in the main AP team. They have things to say that AP will never give them the room or the fees to say which I suppose brings me to the crucial point.

It probably all depends on fees. No matter what they think of AP's position in terms of how it values them, they still have to eat and unless B&W can match the fees and provide the same income stream then AP gets to keep them even if it is undeserving of their services.

TBQH I'd like to see an article on Gandolfi and his work.

So would I - both the Gandolfi brothers, and Emil Schildt who uses the name gandolfi on this forum.

Which book are you referring to Leon, or has he only written one? I probably have too many books on B&W already, some family members have pointed out that if I spent as much time printing as reading about printing I might improve. But, if its that good, I have to have it.

cheers
