B & W has been a monthly for a number of years. By the way Trevor Crone, I love your work! Especially the seaside series and the images of Brighton. Absolutely marvelous.

You are right Kate, but just to confuse it is Lunar monthly, that is 13 issues a year.

So which calendar month has two issues? Logically its Jan 08 if 1 Jan is the first issue of 08 then the 2nd issue is 29 Jan 08 and the 13th issue is 2nd Dec. However there seems to have been only one Jan issue followed by the Feb issue. So are the two issues in the same month saved until December with the second Dec issue being called Xmas issue to avoid having two called Dec?

Lunar is fine for an extra monthly payday but lousy when there are only 12 months

That lunar cycle gets me in lumber... last week it was because I had a phone conversation during Eastenders...

I believe we used to get an extra Christmas edition, but I don't know if that's still the case.

Even as I type Issue 83 March 2008 flopped through my letter box.
The editorial page says that it is published every 4 weeks by the way.
Initial reaction is that it is rather too over stuffed with digi stuff and it's accompanied by a very uninteresting supplement about raw photography. Time to cancel my standing order I fear.

There used to interesting supplements about raw photography in Penthouse circa late 60s/early 70s or was that photography in the raw? Anyway to generate fresh interest I'd need to turn the clock about 35 years

Anyone found a magazine that has tips on reversing time?

I think you are being a bit harsh Dave.
It is afterall a magazine on B&W, not a magazine on darkroom.
My copy arrived today and it has 2 of 3 readers galleries using film, an interview portfolio of Hollywood portraits - on film, Trevor Ashby's beautiful plant portraits - on film (and toned silver paper), John Davies - giant silver prints, Trevor Crone - 5x4 and silver, Article on vintage (definitely film) cameras, Jerry Lebens - in the darkroom, Ah, i get to page 55 for the 1st digital folio. Next is the printer's art - darkroom again. Then we have a 1-page digital article followed by Darkroom Dilemas. This is followed by an article on pinhole cameras (definitely not digital). This is followed by Classic Cameras (film), and then - ads listings etc and ... Oh, that's the end, .
Pretty heavily stuffed with analogue I would say

Can I conclude from your summary, Tim, that the dreaded DSLR-listing is ommitted???

One can always hope
