I'm of the opinion that Black and White is still one of the best resources available for a film photographer. Are they also showing digital? Sure. Do I pay much attention to those articles? No, but occasionally they have some information that I find valuable. Also, I recognize that more and more shooters are either switching over to digi or shoot both. What's wrong with serving the photography community as a whole? Like a television show you don't like, if it doesn't interest you, skip over that part.
I can tell you that when I'm at the local college and some nOOb is asking where to find information that will help them to become a better darkroom photographer, I ALWAYS suggest this magazine. And being in the U.S. we pay a premium for it, so it's a bit of a 'sell' to tell a kid to spend $10-12 on a single issue.
Why on earth would we want to alienate the young shooters who've never shot film? A magazine that serves both communities, that has good articles that show what you can do in a darkroom, that can bring in people who may never have considered that there is a world beyond Photoshop.
Now Photography Monthly has lost my business--they went too far to digital, and I lost interest. I still flip through it at the newstand, and if there is something of value to me in it, then I buy it. If not, I don't. But I don't recommend it anymore to the nOObs.
Black and White Photography is still an excellent resource, and an excellent way to introduce people to the darkroom.
