Has anyone else noticed that Tessa Traeger's picture of Mike Snowdon has fliped over between page 5 and 13. Wonderful picture that it is, I cannot help feeling I preffer the page 5 faceing right picture than the page 13 faceing left.
When I first noticed it I wonderd apart from the looking right feels more natural thing why this was. After much pondering I realised it was the ring.
In the looking left picture the ring which looks like a signet ring is on the ring finger left hand as if worn as a wedding band. Now I may well be wrong but I thought a signet ring worn as a signet ring was normaly worn on the little finger of the right hand in order to more easily inpress the sealing wax not the third finger.
Amasing how closely we examine a picture we realy like.
As an aside has anyone seen an original print to know which way it should face please?
Regards Paul.

It's not just you, it does appear to be returning to how it was at it's best under Ailsa. My only comment is the over reliance on historic material.
It seems the publishers like the listings, and actually the new twist away from Digital cameras to Papers & Films is far more appropriate. Things like tripods, filters, flash guns might also be appropriate, they are common to film and digital.
Perhaps the publishers are beginning to realise that the readers have to be taken into account and will give Liz a freer hand, nice to see Ailsa's name in the magazine again.
Haven't been folowing this thread for a couple of months and was rapidly losing my interest in the mag for the very reasons mentioned here in the recent posts. In fact I had lost so much interest that I haven't bought it recently, which may explain why I was unaware of Martin's advertorials. Like the others I feel that Martin's article/advertorials are not in the usual, tawdry league and would always welcome them.
Must go out and buy the next issue based on the way things are looking up.
The July issue is a big improvement over recent issues. I'm missing Les's section though, and the article on 'cameraless photographs' using a flatbed scanner is a bit 'whats the first thing you did as a schoolboy when given access to a photocopier?'
