I was going to cancel my subscription but the June and July issues have changed my mind. Less emphasis on digital and more on pictures, and there are some excellent ones in issue #87. Congratulations to all!

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that the Letters seem to be absent from the last two issues?

I must agree that it is looking a bit better and there seems to be more emphasis on showcasing great pictures.

The jury is still out here. I did stop buying it and only buy issues that I like the look of. Definite improvement though: I bought the last 3 issues, though this month's (July) issue was borderline for me.

Could do with a return to more practical articles. Apart from the Printers Art bit, there has not been much of late (I'm drawing a polite veil over this month's scanner malarkey).

So, if anyone at the magazine is still reading this thread (!): more practical articles please (and not how to best use RAW mode... Grrrrrrrrrrr). Fewer historical ones (one or two per month is quite sufficient). Non-b&w specific gear reviews = bad, b&w specific reviews and lists = good. Q&A section good (but where is Les Mclean?); Exhibition review = good idea too.

Cheers, Bob.

It appears Mike Johnston still doesn't quite 'get' why so many choose to stay with film, with the same old clichés in his article: 'obstinate', 'fearful', 'reservations', etc. no mention of 'preference'.

Yes, a little disappointed with the last two issues but one has to give the new Ed time to wash the Corfield out.

Has anyone tried blowing into it’s nostrils; it sometimes works?

Bought this month's mag( the Bjorn Borg one) based on recent posts about the "change for the better" and was more than slightly disappointed. If anyone on BW mag is listening and is interested, I'd say that BobF probably sums up my feelings rather well. Oh and just to add to the chorus " What is the situation with Les' section? It's been asked several times and the silence is deafening.
