Default Women in Photography: Solo Exhibition

http://www.wipnyc.org/

My first solo exhibition opened today and will be up until July 29. This is a wonderful site for women photographers -- they are always looking for new work, so I want to encourage women on apug to apply. It's a great venue!

Congratulations Ellen, I wish I could attend.
Its funny though that the poster image, under the title "Women in Photography" has a very hairy man.
Symbolic? Sarcastic? Unintentional? You tell me!

Can I ask a silly question ?

Why Women in Photography: Solo Exhibition

I actually know why I so I don't really need to ask, but it's sad, wrong and needs changing. A former partner was part of IRIS a women's photography movement in the UK. The sad part is 10 years on nothing has changed.

Congrats. Those are some awesome pix and I wish I could come see the show. Luckily there is a local show with a APUG guy in it, and I'll be able to go to that one.

I'm still waiting for the day when either: 1. Male photographers are called "male photographers", or 2. Photographers of any sex are just called photographers. We can all dream, can't we?

The show is on line, so you can see all of it! at http://wipnyc.org I was thrilled to have been selected -- and thank you all for looking at my images. I've also posted a little on my blog about the whole topic women in horseracing (under the post "Women in Photography") -- if you're interested, check it out at http://ellenrennard.blogspot.com
