Brett Weston Portfolio
Anybody has news about the next issue of Brett Weston Portfolio "Ten Photographs, 1963" from Lodima Press ?
I got the last one "Fifteen Photographs, 1961" at least 8 months ago.
Is it expected soon ?
May be I am missing something.

We will be printing the "Ten Photographs" in September and hope to have it by late October. delivery date depends on bindery schedules. After this, a new book will come out every three months. Finally, we have gotten to that point. Apologies for the delay with getting Ten Photographs printed.
Thanks for your concern, but you can always contact us directly.

Yeah, don't hurry on our account. The supreme quality of these books must not be compromised.

An early Christmas present, with more to come. Can't get much better. I've only seen a couple of Brett's actual prints, and certainly can't afford any. So this series of excellent reproductions is a gift from Lodima.

There was no indication that these were a gift on our credit card statements.

An understatement, to be sure...however, I think that when all of these books have been printed and distributed, a complete set of them will be worth quite a pretty penny. This is also true of the other subscription series.
Even though they are very expensive, I'm willing to pay the price for the print quality alone.

I suspect the price of the Brett Weston portfolio series covers cost and little more. Certainly not the time & effort to bring it to fruition. So that effort is the "gift" to those who realize the true value of this series - seeing & examining reproductions that are near to the originals.

As a matter of fact, the price of the Brett Weston books does not even cover the out-of-pocket cost. If we had more subscriptions we would be even. We'll never ever get anything for our time. Printing costs are up. Paper costs are up. Binding costs are up. And all of these costs are in Euros. And then there are shipping costs and import costs. When we raised the price of these books we didn't account for the shipping and import costs. Publishing this series is definitely a labor of love.
