    Metz 45 and Nimhs

FWIW it seems Metz has released a new battery holder for Nihms. Metz NiMH Akku 45-56. I guess it's fairly new. No idea how/if it differs from the normal AA holder. Just did a quick search and only found it offered by one shop in Germany. Anybody know what Akku means?

"Akku" is short for "Akkumulator", meaning rechargeable battery.

The new Metz 45 CL-4 digital, an upgrade of the 45 CL-4, is supplied with a NiMh battery cluster instead of a NiCad one:

But does the new NIMH holder work with the older flashes? Not that it matters much. It likely costs more then my flash did-)

The rechargable cluster (NiCad or NiMH) has the contact at different place to let the flash work more effective at lower voltage.
