Arles 2012
Anyone going to be at the Rencontres in Arles this year, and feel like meeting up for a drink? It's the first week in July.
Cheers,
R.

I cannot make it, but welcome back!
I am now using Hasselblads, a Pacemaker Speed Graphic and a Graflex Model D.
You may remember me under the name Stever in the past.
Steve
Warning!! Handling a Hasselblad can be harmful to your financial well being!
Nothing beats a great piece of glass!
I leave the digital work for the urologists and proctologists.

Thanks, Steve. Hope to see you there one day. Is the Model D the auto-diaphragm quarter plate (too lazy to check the one I inherited)?
But is NO-ONE from RFF going to be at the biggest gathering of fine art photographers in the world?
Cheers,
R.

4"x5" but no auto-diaphragm
Built in 1928
The Speed Graphic was built in 1953

APUG, of course, not RFF. But there ARE going to be RFF people there. Is APUG so equipment oriented that no-one is going to the biggest gathering of fine art photographers in the world?
Cheers,
R

Roger, I think it has more to do with the economy. It is cheaper to actually use the equipment than fly half way around to world to see what someone else took a photograph of.

Dear Steve,
Very true. But it's not half way around the world for everyone. For me, it's an easy day's drive. There must be other Europeans here, surely?
Cheers,
R.

If I lived in Europe or was on vacation in Europe, I would be there.

Roger, I think APUG is far more North America centric than RFF. So for most the distance is simply too far.
I for one follow your Arles threads and one day I will visit for sure.
