I have tried twice to join the f295 forum, 6 months ago, and then last week. Both times they have not responded, have not responded to emails, have not responded to emails sent by other members on my behalf, and both times deleted the login I was using. It's a bit maddening.
Is it okay to mention ... good ol' Velvia.
Yes it is a transparency film, but I never did care much for C-41 process film. C-41 will be more forgiving I suppose. It will be interesting to read your thoughts on the use of both materials.
This is from my first roll. This is just for example. Untweaked in any way, as you can see. Don't know how that scratch got there.
This stuff is very grainy, more noticeable on some of the other photos.
I have done a ton of shooting with Superia 400 and 800, and only think of them as "grainy" when my exposure was very bad. I get rather nice 8x12s from Superia 800, even if it is overexposed by about a stop.
Underexposure leads to the mushy-looking, washed out grain, and overexposure leads to the sharp, gnarly grain.
