    I'm always enthusiastic about DIY jobs, but as long as there are competitive repairmen around, I'd have it properly serviced. It's your Leica, not a cheap box camera.

    One day both my wife and my M2 dropped at the same time. I have to take some time to recollect the painful memory before I can accurately relate the timeline of events, who or what I reached for first.

    Feel for you, did the exact same thing with a newly acquired Nikon S2 that I was using...damned unstable bags! The camera survived fine though, a little chip out of the tiles where it fell...and the Voigtlander 28mm finder that was on top is totalled.
