Often the easiest answer to problems finding 36 mm push-on filters and hoods is the Leitz/Leica SOOGZ adapter which clamps onto the lens and accepts 39 mm screw-in filters. You could then buy accessories in this size or fit larger ones via a stepping ring.

    Regards,

    David

Don't remember exactly but I am sure it was less than $50 - I have 2 of the adapters, and neither was more than this.

    Regards,

    David

PS: On checking, I find the second one cost £33.75 (about US$65)!

The 35 f3.5 Summaron started having a bit of field curvature and was tweaked throughout its production lifetime. I know one fellow who writes Leica articles actually finds the curved field useful.
Both my examples are quite adequately sharp, and the 35 f2.8 Summaron (very rare in screwmount) is extremely sharp.

    Hi David

Thanks, I've not seen one on sale that often.

I'm always amazed how devotees of a particular product -- whether it be cars, cameras or clothes -- can turn a negative into a positive.
