Using UV/IR Leica filters with B/W film ? Or Color film ?

    Hi there,

I have a couple of Leica lenses for my M8 which have the obligatory UV+IR cutt of filters : can I mount them on my MP and shoot film away with no "ill effects" ?

Or do I need to take the filters off everytime ?

You can leave them on there will be less ill effects with the MP than the M8 the film is less (plane) reflective than the sensor.

If you shoot contra jour (and have risks of water or sand) a lot you might want to use a normal multi coated UV for protection, and lower risks of e.g. iris images.

But if you don't see bad effects with the M8 the MP will be ok.
