Het manipuleren van foto's voor onder meer politieke doelen is niet nieuw onder de zon. Het wegretoucheren van Trotski door de kameraden van Stalin op zijn foto met Lenin is bekend. Het blijkt gewoon dat mensen nog steeds gedrukte media als waarheids getrouw beschouwen en vaak te lui zijn om kritisch na te denken over de informatie die hun word voorgeschoteld.
