Good stuff - was there recently as a tourist for the first time and interested to see what (dis)similar things you saw. For sure Karluv Most doesn't normally look like that!

Not sure why you thought it was odd for Josefov to be a highlight. We stayed in Stare Mesto and that area was a highlight for me.

What I have understood it Hitler had planned to turn the Jewish quarter of Prague into a 'museum' for a people that was planned no longer to be alive. That knowledge gave me that feeling.
Nevertheless Josefov was indeed a great place to visit, and to return sometime.
