I came across this just last week, Pat's post made me think to mention it here. Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm not as 'up' with technology as I probably should be, and I'm just getting used to the fact that my [phone can run applications, not just my computer! Now, I don't have a fancy 'smart' phone (although, it does remind me of just about everything I need to do!), but I found a neat application that works great on your average mobile.
I've been using Nilemada DevDB (posted on Photo.Net some time ago I think it was) as a development timer for anything done in small tanks (I'm developing my 4x5 in tanks also). The other day while waiting in the car for my partner, I found an application called "RoundTimerX", it's designed as a fitness timer for intervals, boxing etc, but can easily be set up as a development timer. eg, 22 rounds of 25 seconds, with a 5 second rest gives me my development for TXP (11min, agitation every 30s). So now my phone beeps and vibrates when it's time to agitate, then beeps again to stop... very handy, no more using my computer near my developing sink & chemicals.
Hope someone can find some use from that one!
