Can anyone give me some feed back on Lee or Cokin filters: Im looking at getting some ND grads and yellow & orange for B&W, I know Lee are Expensive and from my research so far the ND Grads are hard to get most places are out of stock,
Whats the cokin filters Like?
I have a mix of both. I have not seen any difference on any of my shots. So may say that this has this and that does that. However, I can't tell any difference except when paying for them. I have had cokin A & P filters for 25 years. I now use the A holder for gelatine filter below the lens on my 360mm Rodenstock. I do like the Lee filters as well.
Hope this helps
I haven't tried the Cokin filters, Brian, but the Lee filters are good. I bought some ND grads in good shape through a similar forum to this one.
The Lee bellows lens shade is nice too!
Ive had good experience with Hitech filters too, very similar to the Cokin.
A cheaper alternative is SRB in the UK.
I've got Cokin ND grads and they work fine for me. I've got four NDx2 soft-transition grads and the Cokin holder lets you use all of them at once if required.
Thanks for the replies, have been looking at the Hitech ones as well, Probably will go for the Cokin Z series, then they will fit all my Lenses.
Thanks again Guys.
To those who have the Lee filters are they less scratch prone then the cokin/hitech filters, or is it just me that scratch filters a lot..
thanks again for the input, I bought a Cokin Z series, 3 ND soft Grads, Yellow & Orange Filters and #58,#67 # 77 # 82mm Adaptor rings these will cover all my lenses on 4x5, 645, and Digital. got a really good price deal from the guys I deal with in Melb 20% off, ended up a bit cheaper than buying overseas.
