I thought my photographic tasks over the past weekend were going to be simple. Just develop some exposed sheet film and do some long overdue pt/pd prints for a film test.
Saturday was fine. Sunday, well…
Sunday started out poorly when I had put my initial water wash into the Jobo tank and started it rotating on my Unicolor motor. This was fine, except when I walked away for a minute, imagine my horror when I heard the sound of water hitting the carpet. Oh no!
Stress. A five letter word which many people can relate to and which can make your day miserable.
Now I know why I go out to make photos. I really understand why I go to Columbia Bottom Conservation Area to close my eyes and listen to a viewing platform sing. I might seem a bit crazy for the last comment, but it really is about getting outdoors away from the stress of everyday life and relaxing.
As for the viewing platform, it does sing if the wind is blowing hard
I suppose there are a lot of things I could say in this blog, but considering I've never done it, I'll just tell what happened on a shoot last Friday evening.
A friend of mine (a fellow LF shooter) and I went to the balloon glow at Forest Park in St. Louis. The glow occurs the night before the Great Forest Park Balloon Race.
He and I were both shooting 4x5. I am proud to say that I was able to backpack my camera gear with relative ease. I am not a backpacking sort
