I started reading Photo.net in 2001. I started shooting old analog cameras at the same time, mostly 'cause I couldn't afford digital. I used to hide in the darkroom at the campus craft center between law school classes at UC Davis. I've never owned a zoom lens. I shoot with a Minolta Autocord LMX, a Holga, and a Pentax K-7. I'd love to learn to shoot large format, and eventually play around with wet plate. I mostly use a "hybrid" work flow -- scanning film and making digital corrections -- though, if time, money, and space allow it, I'd love to build a darkroom someday.
I was a lawyer for a few years. I hated it. I also discovered that time is far more valuable than money, provided that there's enough money for necessities.
I'm now in the process of earning a third degree -- this time, in fisheries and wildlife biology. I'm passionate about bats, and do as much field work with them as I can.
