not sure if people pay attention to my ramblings here
but just in case you do ...
i am donating at least 50% (probably more like 75-90%)
of sales from images sold to relief efforts in oklahoma.
i have donated more than 500$ to relief efforts in
haiti, japan, nyc and elsewhere ...
it goes to the great hour of sharing through the american baptist ministries.

for too long i lived my photographic life without color.
in the past couple of years i have been seeing more and more color in
the things i like to photograph. im not sure what is going on
but i am enjoying turning black and white images into color ones.
it started a few months ago ( earlier posts in this bloggy thing have the photographs )
and i just finished another one, and will probably have a few more by the end of it all ..
yeah,
today i processed a handful of glass plates ...
and YES! i used developer instead of hardener.
i am not sure but for some reason film / paper developer
works much better than straight alum hardener ...
and half the plates look OK so far ...
i've gotta mix some more hardening fixer, as much as i hate hardener ...
to keep my emulsion from lifting + frilling from my plate...
the gelatin / emulsion is still damp+tacky or i would make
i coated a baker's dozen of 4x5 plates yesterday
this morning i verified the timing of my shutter
then i harvested an ancient dry plate bag-mag purchased
long ago but never used.
i used a flang to pry up the septums and slid 3 plates in ...
i made some exposures and looked forward to seeing the results
i emptied the contents of a 1L container i had developer
and poured the contents into a tray.
i put the timer on 3 mins and put
