Digital is looking pretty good today............

by OptiKen on 12-15-2014 at 12:51 PM
The wife is out visiting family for the weekend (nephew is getting married), so it's my time to shoot. I can leave the bathroom/darkroom a mess all weekend while I work and take off for a few hours shooting each day without feeling a bit guilty at leaving her to clean house while I play. (Hey...it's her choice...she could always come with me.)
Saturday I took off to visit the hills and creek close by and spent a couple of hours hiking the area looking for shots. Had a good time, BUT.....

Ok, Stop it! ... Just Stop it!

Daily....no, several times a day...I check out the APUG forum to see what's new, get answers to my infinite questions, and check out the galleries.

by OptiKen on 11-08-2014 at 11:01 PM
It was going to be a hot day so I wanted to get the watering done early this morning. As I watched the sprinkler sweep left to right in front of the apple tree, I caught glimpses of a rainbow.
I moved left and right, forward and backwards, up and down, in and out, trying to find the best picture of the rainbow. Then I started to notice how the colors and contrast in the tree changed wherever the rainbow hit it as the sprinkler continued to sweep left to right.
Ok...I decide that

Film-less

by OptiKen on 10-16-2014 at 05:04 PM
Today is one of those rare southern California days where the sky is a bright, beautiful blue with lots of white, cottony, clouds making for excellent photos.

I have no film.

My normal 'kit' for everyday going to work, going to the store, etc, is a digital Olympus E3 (mostly for when I need a telephoto for birding, etc) and a bag containing an old folder and an old TLR...usually a Yashica 44LM for 127. It also has an Olympus XA2 for when I might be inclined to do some
