Alex Bond predominantly photographs the landscape, both publishing and exhibiting his work. For nearly 30 years he has preferred using a large format wooden field camera for his colour and black and white film based images.
In 1984, Bondís first published works about caves in the south west were reproduced for a national magazine. Further publications followed and in 1989 he established Stormlight Publishing, the imprint under which he publishes a series of postcards based around national parks of WA. This trend towards environmental and landscape photography continues to this day.
Bondís work has since been reproduced in numerous publications and he has also published under Stormlight Publishing, posters, calendars and books. His exhibition prints have been displayed in south west, regional galleries and can be viewed online at http://www.alexbond.com.au.
Bond conducts photographic workshops with an emphasis on large format film based photography and traditional darkroom printing, a practise he continues to this day to produce hand made exhibition prints.
His West Australian stock photography images can be viewed at http://www.stormlightpublishing.com.au
