It'a a high-precision shoe stretcher.
Actually, in all seriousness, it's an adorama. It says so right on it.
Wait a minute, I think an adorama is a high-precision shoe stretcher.
A left-handed smoke shifter? I have been looking for one ever since the Boy Scouts (but it might be a bacon stretcher.)
For effort and originality. Thanks for your replies!
It's actually a focusing slide rack to attach to tripod for macro phhotography.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...mg.DXBPI_P_CAw is designed to lift the camera 50mm vertically only (the distance between centres of Mamiya lenses), a focusing slide rack is designed to move horizontally only to allow fine focusing for macro work by moving the camera in relation to the subject on a tripod.
