Traditional Photography Portfolio by Scott Peters

  Artist's Statement:
The Miracle of Photography- Man has always had the urge to participate in creative activities. “We have been given the opportunity to mirror His creative activity through the arts.” Since fine detail and full tonal scale are critical to Scott, he has no choice but to use large format photography, using primarily 8 x 10 and 7 x 17 inch cameras and traditional wet darkroom contact printing methods on the finest silver chloride paper. Scott has been working in photography for more than 25 years, learning both black and white and early color darkroom techniques from his Father. In early 2000, he began his journey into fine art photography with large format cameras and in 2006 started in the ultra large format arena with a 7 x 17 camera. His vision is best defined as ‘abstract’ including both color and black and white work. His talents have earned him both commissioned work as well as successful juried exhibitions.
  Technical Information:
Traditional film and darkroom methods are used with in-camera negatives, both 7 x 17 and 8 x 10. Photographs are contact printed on silver chloride paper.
