Traditional Photography Portfolio by Tony Egan

James Brown

  Artist's Statement:
In 1969 at age 12 I was seduced by the blues. In 1971 I ditched 6 years of classical piano to teach myself guitar. In 1981 my artistic impulses were courted by photography at which point a duel for my creative energies began. Combining these two loves leads to an uneasy if enjoyable truce. In my performance photography I attempt to capture moments of passion and reverence which might channel an echo of the song or a sense of occasion to the viewer.
  Technical Information:
Mostly TX400 negative scans taken with a Nikon F4 in available light and developed in xTol 1+1.
