So are you guys printing these on postcard paper?
As far as I am aware, there's only one company that makes dedicated postcard paper to print on, and that's Ilford. A lot of people (including me) use it for these postcard exchanges. But just as many people don't -- using small sizes (sometimes up to 5x7) of other papers, or cutting papers down to size, is pretty common as well.
Please sign me in for 25 cards! The address is the same.
Hi Casey,
I don't use "specific" postcard paper (Ilford), just any paper I can lay my hands on at the time; lately that has been old stuff I've picked up free or for $1-$2/box100 or 50 sheets.
Quite a few people do, but you can use whatever you like - entirely your choice!:D
Please sign me up for 30 this time?

The advantages of the Postcard paper are:
1) there is an image on the back that helps you figure out where to put the stamp, the address, and the note :); and
2) it is already cut to the 4"x6" size that is fairly standard worldwide for postcards; and
3) it is on the heavier weight Portfolio RC stock.
I don't make a point of buying it normally - I'm usually content to either use 5"x7" or cut down 8"x10" sheets of regular RC paper to three 4"x6" sheets plus a stub for exposure and toning tests.
Be careful about using 5"x7". I sometimes use that in Canada, because we don't have a preferential postcard mailing rate here, but in the USA, 5"x7" is too big to qualify for the really nice $0.28 postcard postage rate.
I use the Postcard paper for the following reasons:
- cheaper postcard postage in the US
- thicker than standard RC
It's also a good size and reasonably priced (I think).
Hi Rüdiger,
#20 was my first pce. I was happy :) everytime I was able to fetch one of those beautiful handmade postcards out of my postbox.
But now, it seems to be already over (only 5 out :( ).
So, not to suffer from withdrawal, please sign me up for the MAX.
