If you have the ability to try both the G1 & G2 locally I think it would be to your own advantage. G2 is faster & more logically laid out.
Also another vote for the Canon QL17. 1.7 lens & manual shutter. If the meter doesn't work, no problem, You don't need no stinkin' light meter. ~$25. If you're buying from a dealer expect to invest more
